Sc Owners .. Help

OK i got the sc base in and i set it into the bracket ... i trimmed the fan housing and then placed it in.

Anyways i not iced that the freaking fins on the fan are hitting the base of the sc !!! WTF MAN ?

Would it be that big of a problem to trim about 5cm off of the corner of each blade so that it clears correctly? Or will this cause some sort of problem ?

Do the instructions indicate you're supposed to trim the fan blades? If not, I'd be concerened the SC is not correctly placed.

trimming the fan blades yourself will most likely cause an imbalance in the impeller which will result in high vibration and eventually the fan will eat itself. i hate to say it but this would need to be professionally done to ensure nothing goes wrong.

of course you could just try it and if you're really careful then who knows, you might pull it off.

i would check in on the cl forum and see what everyone else had to do. let us know if you find anything that could be useful.

good luck!

if the instructions dont call for triming the fan blades dont do it. it means its not positioned properly.

That's the question I asked...

I read the instructions and there's no mention of the trimming the fan.

Have you replaced the fan shroud with the one in the kit?
