Santa at the track
This came to me via the good folks at Thunderhill Raceway in Ca. and HOD, Hooked OnDriving.com,,
sharing it here first, before it gets bumped to ramblings
‘Twas the day before Christmas when the HOD phone did beep,
It was good old St. Nick, said he was in trouble deep!
“My lap times are slow, and I’ve checked them twice,
I can’t make every house, all in one night!
The coaches were called, they were all on their way,
“We’ll have you on track, by the end of the day!”
Each coach took a ride, and gave Santa their tips,
they had a coach meeting, and this came from their lips,
“He’s turning in early, he’s pinching his exits,
he’s rough with his reins, He’s missing apexes,
He’s in way too fast, and out way too slow,
He’s starting to get better, but he’s got a long way to go”
Then a coach grabbed the reins and demo’d a lap,
Santa was impressed but that sleigh handled like crap,
So Guy called Pirelli and soon a package arrived,
With 32 boots, all perfectly reindeer sized
With R-compound rubber and mud and snow tread
Those things stuck like glue, and so did the sled!
Santa’s back on the track with a coach by his side,
Practicing, practicing, that sleds starting to fly!
The coaches are lining pit wall with great care,
Each waiting for their unique coaching to share,
The sleigh would come in, and the sleigh would go out,
Each lap getting better, of that there’s no doubt!
And now as evening begins to arrive,
Each coach is convinced that Santa can drive!
And Santa knows he learned how to drive today,
and credits it all to the HOD Way
And Santa said with a wink and a nod,
Thanks to you coaches, now I can finish my job!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew, like the down of a thistle,
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night
a happy and safe holiday week to all my ziner friends
Watch out for the crazies on the road!!
