Sales Referrals???

Hey did any of your sales"persons" tell you they'd cut you a check for referrals? Mine did but I couldn't remeber how much. Well one of my friends were looking at TL's and I told her to call the guy I delt with because I got a great deal. I called him first to see what he'd cut me for the referral. A sorry $50 bucks. Then he told me he would NOT be able to give her as good a deal. And she didn't even want a Type-S, or Navi. Needless to say she went some where else. $50 bucks....I was thinking at least $200. Hell, for what he's making on the car, that's nothing.

All mine offered for a referral was a coupon for a free oil change. They give those coupons away like candy. Not worth the headache.

Hey RX-72AR-S,

How much do you think your salesman's commision was, depending on what you bought your car for he probally did not make alot of money. He only gets paid a percentage of the profit, not the price.

i referred two people who then bought cars and got $100 for each. had i been able to get more people there, i would have gotten more $100 notes. but hey, that just made my acura $200 cheaper.

Sounds like you have no idea what the car salesman makes. He ain't no IT guy...

The salesman makes $100 on the sale and then a percentage of the profit after 2% holdback. $200 could realistically be more than he made on the whole friggin' deal. Sorry, but I'm a salesman and I guess you hit a nerve

get this... i reffered two people to my salesman.. and both of them bought a car from him. So i wonder where my 100 bucks each is.. i call him and he tells me that i dont get it till the cars are paid off!!! So ill get 100 bucks maybe 4 years from now? SO i quit telling people about him. Ill forget about the 100 bucks after 4 years. Theres no point. Oh well.

Also why is that i got my car with navi for 31,600....and my saleman wont give anyone else that price? I feel bad cuz the people that wanted the TLS, i told them how much i got it for and where i got it, and the dealership wont give it to them. Strange i think.

You Stick with IT, a good car salesman makes 100k-150k a year, not to mention a good sales manager who makes about 250k a year.

A friend of mine is a car salesman, and I don't know where you work but he makes more than $200 bucks a car. Plus depending on how many people he screws (oops I mean cars he sales) depends on how FAT his monthly bonus it. He makes more money than me. Plus a friend of mine bought a new Accord and the sales rep offered him $200 a referral. That's where I was getting the $200 bucks from. Also the company I work for gets GM discounts. We basically get the car for....I think it's $250 over invoice, and I delt with the Fleet Manager there and he offered me $100 a referral. I guess if it's what you say some sales repss want the the $200 bucks a car (especially if they can't sell many cars a month), while people like my friend would rather push more cars and get the pay off (bonus) at the end of the month. Oh well, I don't care anyway, because I had to jump sales reps anyway before the guy would give me the price I wanted.

My sales rep told me that I would get a referal fee, I think the first one is $100 the next is $150... something like that. Anyhow, I refered someone to him and he screwed me and gave me an opened package of wheel locks, which I already have on my car. I then refer another friend to him and he bought a TL and this time I called the manager to make sure that this problem will not reoccur. I got a phone call from the sales rep 2 hours later telling me that he sent me the wheel locks because he forgot to give me the "key" and he will be sending the two checks to me as soon as the second guy picks up his carf... which should be today. I will keep you guys posted, I hope I get something this time.
