yea, i stopped going to them a while ago, only went to them 3 times after i first got my car a year ago, now i just go and buy mobile clean5000 and a mobile 1 oil filter and have a guy from a independent garage do it, he told me the last time i was their that my oil pan was kinda stripped but it was okay because he was going to use a longer bolt to catch the threads thats left but eventually they would wear out too, now about 3mo later i see oil in my driveway, i know jiffy wont admit it but it was them

I would get a new bolt but i was told that the tl's already have the biggest bolt around, and I already have a long one to catch the threads that are left, so what are my options, new oil pan or what?

You shouldn't go there anyway.
Did you ever hear the news about they rip people off.
They telling people they need additional work on the vehicle and charging them for the work but not actually doing it.
Including not changing oil filter and fuel filter.
Here the link about it http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/scams/jiffylube.asp

PS: sorry to hear about your car, hopefully you get it fix. Good luck...

Here's the Oil Pan for a 2002. Not sure of your year. Cost about $72.50.

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal

I suspect it's the same part for all 2G's, but can't be sure.

I do it 95% of the time, if it has to be done in the winter when I can't do it, then it goes to the dealer.

ALL quick lube places are bad ideas.

C'mon, give them "some" credit... They know there's a bolt under there somewhere that has oil behind it. Be glad they didn't drain your transmission and then fill your crankcase with another 4+ quarts of oil.

Cereal! I was hired at a jiffy-lube like 20+ years ago... I got as far as picking out an "outfit" (jiffy uniform) and filled out a W2 to start work before I punched out and said I wasn't interested anymore... I actually received a check for 1/2hr pay!!!

ROFL, Can yall imagine that, lol, they drain out your transmission fluid and fill it with power steering fluid, drain out your brake fluid and fill it with WD-40, perform a coolant flush and fill it with windshield washer fluid, and fill your windshield fluid with gear oil, huh, lol

You can always go to some local car shop, which is what I do. I was never a fan of those chain stores such as Jiffy Nube lol

Its also your fault for not bringing up the issue with them.

You have a few choices.

A.) Retap the oilpan and get a larger bolt

B.) Replace it with a new/used one.

C.) JB Weld a Sure Drain or like device into place and use that from now on.

Yea I already got a new larger bolt. I went out to check my oil this morning and its still full at the exact same level it was when I last got the oil changed a few weeks ago, after doing further investigation I came to the conclusion that it wasn't my car, I parked it in a new place last night, and seen no oil this morning, so I must have parked over someone elses oil mess, or It chould have been my cuz's nissan since I found out he stopped by and I wasnt home, but anyhow, thanks everyone for your input, I was gonna be pissed if more money had to leave my pockets

$35.00 for an oil change....RIPOFF!!!

I took my 1994 Honda DelSol to Jiffy Lube....they checked the airfilter...then stripped the plastic housing when replacing the bolts. It's over $300 to replace the airfilter housing. They denied doing it. They said it's an old car...and anyone could have done it over the years. They didn't notice that the car is in mint almost showroom new condition...original everything....it looks new inside and out.

Surprised noone has said this yet... BUT IMHO I think the DEALER is on the SAME LEVEL as the Jiffy Screwin'.

For real, take your car to the dealer for rattles, tire changes, simple TSBs, or worse of all an oil change... You get the same dumchit HS dropout wrench beater doing the work, except the guy at the Acura dealer has a nicer oil changin bay and you can go look at all the new cars.

Dealer only touches my ride for something catastophic AND covered under warranty... Otherwise it's all me and only me touching my car!

Dealers are worse IMO because they see all the same cars day in and day out so they get COMPLACENT!

I went to the dealer once to get a simple tranny fluid change, and they took my car back out and said they cant work on it because the tranny case is cracked and its leaking fluid. They said the new tranny would be $5000. I went to a local shop, and it turns out that it was leaking a lil fluid but I only needed axle seals not a whole damn transmission for $5k, dealers lie sometimes, ever since then I never go to a dealer unless i'm picking up oem fluid or parts to use elsewere

I'd have to say that if you were to go anywhere, talk to the guy who's doing the work for you. Get to know him. Watch him if you have to, just make sure your car is being put through the service you're paying for.

I've had service done at quick change places, small shops, big chain shops, and dealerships for all the vehicles I've ever owned. Every time someone touches my car, I'm there. I witness the procedure and make sure that everything is done correctly - unless it's some sort of warranty work, then I drop the car off and go about my business. If something were to get messed up while it's going through that kind of hassle, your dealership will most likely take care of you. People will typically do better work when the person paying their salary is watching them.

There's a Meineke up the street where a good gearhead buddy of mine works. I still pay my 25 bucks for the oil change because he knows his work and deserves his pay even though I could get it done for free.

I think $35 is pretty good. Consider cost of oil, cost of filter, disposal of oil and the labor. It's like you're paying a few bucks for someone to get their hands dirty. Why not?

MY BATTERY COVER PLATE GOT SCREWED UP, dunno why but they took it out and put in on the engine...not only did it melt a lil but yea it got crushed up when the hood was closed...
JL is the worst, i'd rather goto walmart!

i have a guy abt 20 miles away that i get my stuff done from. I need some wheel ramps+ oil pan to collect the oil and i'm doin it myself during the summer/spring.
