Unhappy Sad Day

Nope not an accident.
I just went over 100K miles today. Kinda high for an 02. I guess it's not that bad, it's just weird seeing 6 digits now.

My 03 has only 50K miles.
How is your 02 running with 100K miles ? and what maintenance have you done ?

Running great
I've done all the normal stuff, oil changes, brakes, tranny drain/refill (2nd tranny BTW) and I plan on doing my timing belt soon...I think. I'm still up in the air on that one.

Still looks great (according to avitar) As long as you do the maintence it should be fine for more than another 100k.

In your sig it says you added OEM navi. How hard, and expensive was that to do?

Thanks..
And that was one of the reasons that I bought the car. I wanted to have it payed off and keep it for a while after it was payed off. With an Acura, I can do that.
Adding the nav cost about $1000 and took a friend and I 6-8 hours (I can't remember, it was so long ago). It wasn't really hard, but it can get very confusing if you don't plan it out properly. There's a thread started by bolamite and has lots of info and Q&A. I used that thread to help with my install, and since then, have answered many questions for other members attempting the install. From what I can tell, bolamite was the first to do it and I followed closely in his footsteps, but there seems to be a handfull of members out there that have completed the install themselves.

I feel your pain, my 02 went over the 100k mark a few weeks ago. It was running fine until about a week or two ago, I think I need some new spark plugs, any suggestions? I need to change my timing belt pretty soon too, but there's no f'n way I'm paying the dealership $1600. No tranny flush needed though, new one only has like 8k on it.

My 03 TL-S has 112,000, so don't feel bad. BTW my car still runs and looks great. New tranny at 71K but other than that just routine stuff. Your car should easily go another 100K (just keep your eye on tranny fluid color)...

For the spark plugs, purchase the NGK Iridiums and for the Timing Belt service purchase the parts and have a reputable shop do it. There's usually a few places that specialize in specific cars such as Hondas, Toyotas, etc. that will do it for MUCH less than the dealer and do outstanding work.

Congrats and welcome to the club Jeff I purchased my '03 Type-S in October of '02. I'm already at 111K. I had my tranny replaced at @87K, and I'm hoping to get another 100K out of this tranny. Hope all is well. Regards to your GF.

I didn't realize there were so many poeple over 100K. Makes me feel better. I did my car to drive it though. Thanks for the support during these hard times!
As for the plugs, definitely NGK Iridiums. Most members will agree.

110k here on my 02 TL-S. drives like the day i bought it with 27k miles on it. in fact, i have no rattles (because as soon as they pop up i repair them) and the car drives smooth as hell (except for the slipping transmission which i'm getting replaced this month). the engine is solid. i have never performed any maintenance except the 100k tuneup and routine things like oil changes and battery replacements.

in reality when you consider that many people have 200k plus miles on their tl's, you're really just broken in now.

i feel your pain though. i was sad when i hit 50k on the tl because it didn't feel "new" to me anymore. heh.

Yeah, I think that's my issue...it doesn't feel new anymore. I have no doubt that I would be able to keep my car for another 100k plus, I just hope I don't get tired of it.

I bought my '02 TL-S with 109k and I'm now pushing close to 112k and it's only been a month. Tranny replaced at 110.5k and hoping it will go beyond 200k with routine maintenance. My bro's '87 Accord is running way over 300k and is still alive.
