no that's not rust. Mine look the same way and I have had them on there less than 6 months. I can't say for sure if the rest of the headers are fine, but with comptech's reliability, I am sure you are fine.

All headers corrode and fatigue because of hot cold cycles they go through every time you drive your car. Coat the header with Jethot sterling from www.jethot.com if you want to extend the life and lower the temperature on your engine bay.

Mine are over 6 years old and they don't look anything close to that. I would say the condition of that headers is poor. I don't have any rust on mine at all. I also noticed he has a ZEX nitrous kit. Wonder if the extreme heat when he was running nitrous had caused the headers to be like that.

Take a look at the green rust on the manifold studs and hoses near the pulley. Looks like that car drove in winters where salt is used. Salt is a catalyst for metal oxidation, so is exhaust's high temperature.

That's because you live in Foster City, CA. I have OBX SS on mine and they have zero rust as well.

I'm gonna have to take a pic of mine now...but I couldn't imagine that mine would be rusted after only 6 months. Can I have them coated after they've been installed already? I mean I would obviously take them off, but there is not reason why they couldn't be coated if they are not new, right?

You have to take header off and ship it out for coating, I got mine coated and shipped back to me in less than one week. Jethot will strip the top layer to prep for ceramic coating so it does not matter the header is new or used.

Fact is: you will take your chances buying things used. Cheap it is but you will not have any customer service from Comptech since you are not the original owner. Looks like the car was put through some really bad winters with a lot of salt. The purchase decision lies with you. Personally, I would not buy it from the visual aspect. It's better to buy a lesser known name brand that is in a brand new condition otherwise your run reliability risk issues.
