Running Lean
Ok so I took my car into acura and had them diagnose it. I had the check engine light and vsa light come on so I wanted to know what's wrong. Well the engine check light triggers the vsa light and disables it. Or so that what they tell me. So I ask why my engine check light is on and they tell me there are misfires across all 6 cylinders and thats due to an abundance of air. The extra air is causing the pistons to prematurely retract. None of it will be fixed b/c of my mods. But my question here is Is acura avoiding the fact that something is wrong and trying to get out of warranty work? And if not, what can I do to richin up my A/F without any ECU work?

"due to an abundance of air." WTF!!! unless your running NOS to raise the density of the air.or maybe too much boost from a improperly tuned SC, THEY'RE FULL OF SH1T!!!

I was thinking that too. I remember a few people on the forum had problem with valves so I am assuming that that is the true cause of the problem but those jerks wont look into it. Damn bastards. So what would you guys suggest? Taking it to an independant shop and have them look into it?? If the valves are the case, would it be covered under warranty seeing as how I have modded it? My mods are I/H/E/UR Pulleys. Thanks for the help.

That's the biggest crock o'crap I've heard in quite a while! Do you have more than one dealership in your area? If so, take it to them, because this dealer's trying to screw you. If not, call Acura customer service and raise hell.
It might be adviseable to have another shop read your OBD-II codes and tell you what's really stored in the computer.

The only thing that stops me from going to another dealership is that they always threaten to void my warranty. And this is the only Acura I go to and they're pretty cool about not voiding my warranty. But I might as well just get my warranty voided since I am about to get into extensive modding (warranty voiding mods). But I might just end up following up on your advice and go to another dealer and get it looked into.

a dealership CAN NOT void your warranty! Your warranty is through Acura, NOT the dealership. I got my extended warranty from one dealer but after they screwed me by not changing my tranny when I told them something was wrong and 3 days later my tranny died, I never went back there. There is definitely something fishy there. NONE of those mods will cause something like that. Raise hell and tell them that there is NO way those mods will cause an abundance of air! Definitely try another dealer. Keep us posted on what happens.

Take it to another dealer. I would look on comptech's website to see what dealers are located in your area that are comptech friendly and go there. Even if you dont have comptech stuff, comptech Acura Dealers are usually mod friendly. But defenitly go to another dealer.... this I can't stress enough.
