any clues as to why? its more like a heavy vibration that lasts about 3 seconds when i hit the brakes over 40 mph.

^ yup. i needa have my rotors replaced soon. you can either have them resurfaced or can buy oe rotors.

just put raybestus high performace ceramics on there probably 3-4k ago. must be rotors. But its not bad its a quick shudder..

 

new pads on old stock rotors is a recipe for shake on brake

need to clean them at the least, possibly resurface or best option is replace rotors

Make sure calipers and wheel bolts are correct torque
and that lube was used on the pad backs, and the slider plates/tabs were clean and lubed
Dry brakes dont like to move~
