RR's question of the day

Is there a way to tap the torque converter to drain the ATF on the TL?

Sorry, I'm new.

Given our little discussion the other day about Acura's recommended drain, fill, drive, X3 procedure, I'd have to guess no, but it's only a guess.

btw, Rage, your QOTD reminds me of the same thing our IT dept does at work every day with their Word QOTD . . . "How do you format [whatever]?" However, I actually read and think about yours.

*Ball 0- I may discontinue this due to lack of interest - people seem to be mroe interested in their foglight bulbs so I may drift over to the tech side or CL froum.

The answer is:

Most RWD cars can have the TC tapped - Mercedes cars already have them. It is not generally possible in a FWD car with a transaxle, as in our TL's.

I think the best idea is to replace the fluid every year, which will give a complete change of fluid every 3rd change, remove old deposits, aqnd allow you to check for debris more often. This is a better idea than waiting three years and having the dealer flush it - BTW, since the cooler does not tap into the radiator, using those lines to do the flush is out of the question. I wonder how the Acura techs are going to do it?

Aw now, c'mon, some of us are interested. Besides, you seem to be a pretty well-informed fella, car-wise. We sure don't want to lose you to the dark side (I assume you've seen some of the OT topics from the CL forum refugees).

Or, maybe you could just do RR's QOTDs on bulbs, clearing lenses and moonroof wind deflectors. That'd be swell.

You funny.

Maybe I could have WOTD - whine of the day - or BOTD - Bash of the Day.
