Smile Rotors - Good News

I recently took my TL-S, which has 43K miles on it, in for worn pads in the rear and a shimmy in the braking.

A little history here for you. I had the front rotors machined twice already once at 15K and the next at 30K, at that time Acura replaced the front pads no charge. At 37K front rotors were OK and the rear pads still had 70% left on them. Somehow the rear pads got worn down to 15% in 7K miles.

So I took my car in and Acura at first said they wouldn't do anything. After a few phone calls and being solid on my ground that I wasn't paying for any work since of the "known rotor issue". My service rep told me he made a call to Acura to see what they could do. I also quoted in earlier conversations with the rep some of the rotor sizes on the 04 TL 11.8in and the TSX 11.8 and the RSX-s 11.8 and even the 03 Honda Accord 11.8, all of which are bigger than the 99 - 03's, 11.4in rotors and those cars are either comparable or less in weight when compared to the TL.

The results:
New rear pads and installation - no charge!
New front rotors and installation - no charge!
Oil change - no charge!
Having your dealer pay for all that - priceless!!

My advice is hang in there and be firm on the issue
