Rockstars FPR Interior Progress soon.

So i just ordered the black front and back seats out of the 03 TL-S for a steal of a price. $185.00

and somebody sold me a set of black floor mats still in the boxes for 40 bucks..

and i'll be transforming the rest of the interior a little at a time. no rush, i see tons of door panels, consoles, dash pieces etc: all the time on LKQ's inventory.

but decided that all the black and red on the outside doesnt mesh very well with my tan and darker tan interior

so i'll be posting pics eventually along with a few help questions when im installing the front seats and cant find the answers on here through search.. "wiring issues"

ps. i was wondering if you guys with black interior have black roof liners and windshield pillars or is it gray?

thanks for any help and i hope the seats get here in good condition. they are in great shape in the seller's pictures with a warranty.

sorry rockstar...at one time I would have traded off my trim pieces, but I like em now.

I just got a woodgrain steering wheel from LKQ! I got a really good price on it too, so now my steering wheel will match my wood trim pieces.

Hopefully I will get to see your car in person soon, it looks really nice from the pictures and I think that the ebony interior will really set it off.

im working on my interior a bit myself. trying to make a 2 tone thing going on, with suede pillars and hopefully headliner. so far got the pillars and some of the 2 tone done. the ebony interior does have the ugly grey pillars and headliner unfortunetly.

your fpr should look awesome tho. my seats are remaining black, i was considering spraying the carpet a matching color but its prbly gonna not look so great. ill experiment

oh and removing seats was pretty easy actually. 4 bolts connect the seat to the floor, and the harness is just a clip to pop off. i took them outta my 99 tl in like 15 min first time

seats will be going in first... some time next week when they come in... then smaller trim pieces and center console... then the panel's if i can find for a decent price.. dealer wants 500 a POP! lol

and 02 TL-S i wish

i knew nobody would trade.. so imma end up just buying some used....

the tricky part will be the carpet and the dashboard replacement...

I dont mind the grey/black combo..?

One thing I would love to do, and this would look kick ass in your case especially Rockstar- is to have red inserts on the center cushion portion of the seats (A-spec?) and maybe even a portion the door panels....

so a little progress was made today..

go ALL of the trim pieces inside the cabin except for door panels and console.

and the entire bottom half of dash.. (glove box, steering column, fuse box door).. etc:

but the same seller is letting me have all 4 door panels for 100+shipping..

so it wont be too long hopefully and i'll start putting all of this together.

woot!

yea i guess its a personal thing lol. i covered mine with suede actually and put them in, not sure how i feel about it tho, i got the darkest suede i could find and it looks bluish against my ebony dash. maybe once i put the headliner in it'll match up better. or i could see if i can find darker suede somewhere and redo them. i got some of my lower dash painted already, just trying to visualize which pieces i should paint. dont want it looking tacky. found this thread from the 3g guys, its like my inspiration. altho i dont have camel seats...

Look for 03 tl-s door panels as they match the seats better. Only the 03 tl-s came with the perforated leather inserts in the door panel like the tl-s seat inserts.

^^^^ theres a few threads explaining what you need to do to get them working.. but they will work just fine with a little tweaking.. the harnesses just wont plug n play at first.

but the seats themselves will bolt straight in.

yea with some of the switches you have to use the switch from your old panels and the seat harness to depending on what year your car is and what year the seats came from. i had to convert my harness since i had a 99 and i toke the seats out of a 00

i got everything to work. the things i had to swap out with my old interior was the window switches and the lock and unlock switch, the side window switch and i had to repin my seat harness to the 00 seat harness. i cut the 00 connector from the car and repin it into my 99. other than that thats all i can remember. as soon as i find some type s seats ill prob have to repin the harness again unless the type s seats harness is like the 00
