Rock hit my windshield...
Rock hit my windshield...
While I was driving on the highway, a rock kicked up and hit my windshield head on. It didn't break it or leave a "star" on it but it did make an extremely small indent that is barely noticeable. However, I am concerned that the hot summer months here will cause it to "run." Is there a way I can fix it without replacing the entire windshield? Will Acura fix it since it is still under warranty?

if u get a crack in a windshield like that, i doubt itll get bad really fast... but i doubt u can try to replace just that chip without replacing the windshield , and im pretty sure but Acura doesnt cover damage like that unless it was a crack due to a defect in the windshield. If they would, im sure a lotta pple would be bringing their cars in for stuff like that, not to mention theyd even try to push for having dents on their cars fixed claiming "acura metal sheets are defective"...
you can get a whindshield chip repair done at car washes or whinshild repair outfits. They bascially drill through the star or dent and then fill it up with a resin. Really cool and you can barely tell it's there, there's a slight circle in the window around where they drilled - looks like dead bug reside or a dirty area of the windshild, but bearely noticible.
Check with your insurance co. Mine says that they will do it for free becasue it prevents having to replace the whole whindshield later and is cheaper for them. No deductible and no premium increase.

it depends on where the chip is located on the window cuz i know here in florida if the chip is in the direct view of the driver the insurance company and the window repair placed is not allowed to patch it.... but i guess depending on what state you live it depends on how the problem will be handled...
