Long story short... I got my first tranny replaced 20k miles ago. It's been shifting hard once in a while. I called Acura and they said "bring it in, we will replace the tranny. It will take about 3 days" they didn't even look at it. What can cause it to go bad so fast? I know there was a little heating issue and they put the tranny cooler. I drive it and push it a bit but... nothing too crazy and not all the time. I just hope they don't give me a bunch of crap for having headers and a CAI.

so, u had one of the new trannies go bad. i think im next, my tranny was replaced about 1000 ago and its starting to feel like shit. when going about 20-30 mph and i let off the gas it feels like as if i tapped on the brake.

That's also what mine was doing. Do you ever get your head jerked when you are in low gears and low rpms really hard when you gently tap the gas?

Yeah please let us know when you got it replaced. I just got one like a few months ago and notice the same things you are both describing every so often.

Yeah..i had those problems...and it was my tranny going bad. So...I brought it to acura..and they told me Tranny replace...right now i put 20k on my tranny...and it still is solid strong..love it.

just got my second one today, i had to new one, this tranny shifts so smooth. Acura told me they made a new tranny that shifted smooth. and it does, i wonde if it will after the fluid is broken in.

Well the car is in the shop for the 2nd day. They said it should be done on friday. I got a Chevy Malibu as a rental, well it says Mal bu someone took the "i" off of it. I miss my tl even with the hard shifting. I was telling the service guy I was on here reading up on the new tranny and he seemed a little bothered with the comment I told him. I did ask what the better about the new one and he claimed that it has more fluid going to the 2nd gear. I wish the other guy would have talked to me, cause this guy seemed like a jerk once I started asking questions about the 07 type S.

YES! i really think this tranny is goin bad but theres no lights on the dash so im not gunna bring it in just yet. earlier today while driving at a low speed it felt like i hit the gas a lil but i didnt press the gass at all. my car just feels very unstable at low speeds.

I just took it before there were any lights on the car. I just called they said to bring it in to prevent me being stranded somewhere. No word back from them today so I would like to assume that everything is going well, but I don't know. What the heck enjoy the rental if you take yours in.

They just called me saying it's done. I will go pick it up after work today let all of you know how it feels.
