Is this a ripoff?
This guy quoted at some tint shop quoted me $208 for tint on the rear window/rear sides. I told him just the rear/rear side windows at 1%. Is this a ripoff or a good deal?

140.00 is crazy cheap. i paid 250.00 for both front, both sides and rear in platinum and that is a good deal in new hampshire/maine area. 208.00 doesn't sound like a ripoff, but if you can get all done for 140.00 go for it. BTW you are getting 1% tint? isn't that illegal? none of my business but that is way too dark, hard to see about of when you are in the car.

For 140, I may just have to drive to SoCal to get mines done.
208 isn't bad. I've paid about 200 for for rear, rear sides, and those dinky rear quarterwindows before.

california tint is pretty good in tints. However, DO NOT get your lowering done over there!!! Or DO NOT let them get anywhere close to your suspensions or wheels cus they'll fuck it up! I ordered my H&Rs over there and had them done... the result... One busted rim! They couldn't take one of the rims off, but they still forced it and broke a piece of my rim off! No compensation, not even apologies. I've done many of my jobs there before this happened, the owner is cool and all, but they should have known better to no force anything off without any proper knowledge or tool (whichever was missing).

I got my tint done at Sunshield Glass Tinting in Sherman Oaks in SoCal. Excellent job. Have gotten 3 cars tinted there and never a problem. A full tint job (minus the windshield) will be around $150-$155. They use Llumar tint and give a lifetime warranty.

Here is a list of all the state laws:
http://www.iwfa.com/iwfa/Law_Chart/S...aw%20Chart.htm
and it shows that Californians can put anything they want on the side and back windows. You crazy kids!
I paid $360 i think it was for my tint... maybe it was $390... i forget. I got formula one pinnacle which is a ceramic film, with a lifetime wwarranty, and could not have gotten it for any cheaper in my area. Whether you are getting a good deal or not depends on what type of tint they are putting in your windows. If you are just looking for the cheapest option that will last a while I would say you could go cheaper than $200.
Consequently if that is ceramic then you are stealing it. I believe the only 2 ceramics are made by formula one and huper optic and both of those are expensive, but will never fade, and will not interfere with any electronics, at all. I am not trying to start the arguement up here on if metallics make enough effect to matter... i am simply saying I opted to be safe rather than sorry in the end.

It's not a matter of getting played. it's a matter of what we wanted and what it cost. If you get a ceramic tint then you have to pay the price.
I could get a monkey to shit on my window and smear it around for 50 bucks. That will block out sunlight... but that doesnt make it a better deal simply because it is cheaper.
I can't believe that the same people who won't get a walmart oil change and want to use synthetic oil every oil change (at every 3-5k miles) would cheap out on the tint. You look through that every day and it totally affects the look of your car as well as maybe the function of your electronics. I have a $400 dollar radar detector and a navigation system in my car. why would I go wrap them in tin foil and make them work less effectively? Or god forbid, I know some of those cheeap prices are dye based tints. My brother has used those and they always fade and look like crap. I hope you like purple because you just payed to have the whole world gradually turn that color.

Here ya go bargain hunters.....
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...rtnumber=NPS06
$5.88. Add in 12 bucks for a case of beer and get your "buddy who knows tint" to do the job. Or save the beer for yourself and apply it yourself. Either way, $17.88 is the best price i have seen yet for an all around tint job so it must the wisest thing to do and anyone who spends more is getting ripped off, and is a idiot, and a sucker!!!!
Why is it the obviously most ignorant people tend to be the most judgemental of other peoples choices... and yes I am pointing at you pazzoItaliano99.... or should i say playa.
Maybe I am getting to involved.... let it go gingerbreadman... let it go....
