RIP tl-s
Well yea, the inevitable happened today. As i was pulling out of school, i was alone driving, and i was in front of my local gas station. For some reason, the cars in front of me all stopped, so of course i slowed down, when WHAM a dodge pick-up 2500 rams into the back of my car... The driver of the truck goes to my school and hes a junior. Hes kind of the quiet kid and i know he's a good kid, i'm just sad that it was him. He was obviously shaken and it just sucks it had to be him.
When i heard his tires squealing for traction(very scary thing to hear lol), i looked into my rear view i saw my rear bumper fly into the air and saw my trunk comepletly crumple up as my rear windshield just shattered. I had my sun-roof open at the time a shitload of glass flew in and im still picking glass out of my hair.
The impact of my car traveled to another three cars in front of me. They had minimal damage, but a white corolla in fornt of me her trunk and rear bumper were pretty messed up too.
I had the car towed to my cousin's shop, where he basically told me, i'm not gonna be able to drive it anymore.
On top of that, i had to take SAts the next morning with a stiff neck. but im glad im ok, although im going to a physical therapist... i am still growing(16) so i dont want this accident to haunt me when im older
I guess time for a new car after all this insurance bs is done.

A Ram 1500 isn't enough for high school kids?
Ram 2500 trucks are a little higher than average. That's why the exhaust survived intact. Heck, you're bumper collision beam didn't even get a scratch. The unibody and rear quarter panels were the 'bumpers' here.
Oh well, you made out in one piece. Next time, close the sunroof when it starts to pour glass shards.

Damn man, sorry to see that. I assume your roof is crumpled as well judging by the pic.
My car's still in the shop from a similar accident with a 4runner that didn't stop. Trunk, rear floor including the rear seats, right quarterpanel including the C-pillar, and right rear framerail needed to be replaced. And that was about $11k so you're probably very close to the salvage value hopefully. If you need any help with the insurance - eg: the insurance co screwing you by underestimating repair costs, just holla at me cuz I have my estimate.
Good luck with the SATs. Remember to put your pain and suffering into a kickass college app essay.

Honda probably spent millions on the rear impact absorption setup, and Dodge just bypassed all of it.
Glad you came out okay, pchong.
