Ride Question Please Help!!

I am getting 20s for my car, i was wondering with 20s will i be able to get the wheels to tuck under the car if i get ground control coilovers and give it a nice drop, and if so how much should i drop it so i can get the 20s to tuck?

Im either gonna get 20x8s or 20x7.5 which one would be better for the tuck?

info on 20s and on upsizing is here at this site. if you don't mind searching, esp the wheel/tire forum, you will probably get more technical info and less opinions as many members frown upon this.

regardless of diameter, you still have to worry about the same things like appropriate wheel width, appropriate wheel offset and appropriate tire size. if you wanna tuck, you don't want the widest wheel width, you want higher offset(s) and a moderate tire size. your limitation will be the tire size most likely because there aren't many "small" 20s, and then the possibility of finding a "skinny" wheel width with high offset.

20s won't fit on the 2nd gen TL. Go with 18s or 19s.

I highly dought it that you will be able to tuck. You might want to try 17s or 18 or 19s at the most. You are not going to conner any better with a bigger wheel. Plus you run the risk of bending the wheel also. I have 18x8 s on my 01 TL and I think the are large enough. I love connering with it. With 20x7 s on it I don't even want to think about it. Is gona look weird from the back. You will have a big wheel with not enough width. Also keep in mind tire size as well. It will be plenty pimp with 18s or 19s. Good Luck and keep us posted.

20's do fit. Some look better than others, but everyone is right in saying that it is most definitley not the best choice. 18's are pretty much your best bet, 19's would look hot too, just gotta really watch the potholes.

Offset will need to be at a minimum of +48. +50 and above is your best bet from all the posts I have seen. Sticking to a 7.5" wide wheel will also be a good bet. 8" works too I think.

here we go again... if you have to ask, then you shouldn't even be considering it. Do you have any idea how much the engineers that designed your car make an hour???? Do you think they pay them that to design un-reliable and un-safe vehicles??!!??!!?? You must be a bright 19 year old light bulb to think you can just slap a pair of dubs on it. Poor fool wants to "stand out". You don't even know what type of suspention upgrade you are getting... Hahahahaha. That and the brakes should be your first consideration when getting new wheels of that size. Foo', when you have to dish out a wad for each tire that pops or pop a car in the back 'cause your ride could not handle the way it was designed to do so, we'll be laughing so hard... Go rice a different car and leave the over 19" wheels for the SUV. You have sooooooo much to learn.
