reverse bulb doesnt fit?

Hey. I just bought a 7440 reverse bulb and it doesnt fit. Did the people that installed my inspire lights install smaller reverse bulbs? the bulb in there is the same shape but a lot smaller. Does anyone know the bulb type number for it? thanks.

I believe reverse should be 194 type wedge bulbs. Do a search on bulbs, and you'll find the list. 7440 is single filament 21w bulb used for turn signals. Way too big for reverse as you found out.

A regular 7440 bulb won't fit in the back-up bulb sockets. I know a couple bulb finder guides incorrectly give this number. I've bought the wrong bulbs before too.

Polarg M-6 is the super white version with the big 7440-style head and the smaller socket. They fit perfectly and produce a clean white glow.

The reverse bulbs are type W2 or 192 bulbs..

194 bulbs might fit, but probably not be bright enough..

The M-6 is a 18watt, US type 192 bulb and will fit.

Enjoy!
