Returning the TL at the end of a lease
Returning the TL at the end of a lease
Has anyone returned their TL at the end of their lease? or any other leased car. I have two years left on my TL lease, and just wanted to know what the dealer will charge you for. I have two small door dings and a few small scuff marks on the rear bumper. Will I be responsible for the body work? I know the car is supposed to be returned in the condition you picked it up, with the exception of normal wear, but how carefully does the dealer examine the car when you return it. For example light bulbs, tire tread, light swirl marks from car wash, etc...
Thanks in advance

Read your contract, I know that they look very carefully at tire tread, as far as the exterior, every dealer has their opinion on whats normal wear that's the catch at the end of a lease. Also mileage, again read the paperwork.
i think they will overlook swirl marks and light scratches but things like dings and scuff marks will be charged. Normal wear and tear includes tire wear they have no measuring scale that they go by so as long as its decent according to the car age you will get away with it.

I had a 99 TL that was 10,000 miles over and had 5 months left on my lease and turned it in on a 2003 TL. I put zero down and my payments were $1.00 less per month than what I was paying before.
The reason I got such a good deal was that my 99 TL was in perfect condition. I always treated it as if I owned it and kept good care of it.
Dealers will not charge you for ordinary wear and tear. If you
dont maintain it and treat like a POS then you won't get a good deal.

Friend of mine leased a RL and returned it.. he got charged up the butt for a few small dings and paint damage on the hood (which imho is normal wear and tear) .. he BOUGHT his new 2003 TL-S instead of leasing it... at a different dealer.

Honda finance will likely be more lienent on you if you agree to lease another Acura/Honda - towards the end of your lease, they will contact you to ask what your plans are for the car, and to offer you an incentive to look again at another Acura.
