I had a question for anyone who removed the resonator (exhaust) in their car. I went today to get my 3G's resonators removed, I had both removed... the skinny one and the muffler-shaped one. I get a very bad flat, raspy (almost tin sounding) noise at around 2.5k RPMs. I did a little research here and learned that the skinny resonator should be left on. I was wondering if any of you have done this mod and either took both off or just one off, and what your results were. I figure that the exhuast, at least the cat-back, can't be very different between the two cars. Of course it is a redesign, but I don't see how you redesign a cat-back... especially if it has the same features as the previous models.

I was also wondering if they could take the original resonator setup, cut the skinny resonator off, and make a section (does it matter where?) in the cat-back to put it in. I'm concerned that if I do this, and it doesn't fix it, I'll have to pay for even more labor and cut up the cat-back even more... will that be bad for it if it has a bunch of weld points?
Finally, I paid 60 bucks for the whole thing, is that too much? The guy told me he would replace the catback for 25 if I was unhappy, which means I'll probably get the smaller resonator put in for about 25.
Thanks guys
