Seafoamed recently, half a tank ago, any chance this is throwing it? Changing spark plugs in couple miles. Can i reset light myself, is that a bad idea?

Only reason it comes on is for a reminder for regular maintenance such as an oil change. At first it will only blink then disappear the first i believe 3500 miles? It could be 3000 but its one of those. Then after 7500 miles of driving it will stay on to remind you. You can reset it yourself it wont affect the car in anyway or hurt it its just a reminder. So make sure you change your oil already if you havent!

I think it blinks at 6500, and stays on at 7500.

It ONLY comes on as a reminder for oil changes at a predetermined 7500 mile interval. It means NOTHING more. There is NO way to adjust it to come on at different mileage. It starts flashing when you start the car (i believe at 6500-7k then stays on at 7500) You have to reset it at every oil change, it wont reset it self.

Thanks for clarification. I was always under the impression it starts flashing at 3500 and stays on at 7500.

Don't know if it's different for earlier years but per my owner's manual for 2003 the light starts blinking at 6000 miles and stays on at 7500 miles since the last reset

Instructions to reset:

Turn off the engine.

Press and hold the select and reset
buttons on the instrument panel,
then turn the ignition switch ON
(II).

Hold the buttons for
approximately ten seconds until
the indicator resets.

driver- seated position
Right hand = key in ignition
Left hand- THRU the top of the steering wheel to press and HOLD IN - BOTH trip buttons
Right hand turns key to ON,, not start- just ON where all the dash lights come on
Mait light blinks 10 times and shuts off
key OFF
remove left hand- remove key
You have just completed the mait req light reset!

All years are the same.
