Replacing Pads and Rotors

Hi all, I just joined and have few questions. I am helping my friend on his 03 TL Type-S and need pads and rotors replaced. I've never worked on honda/acura's before, I've done it on my Lexus and Toyota. Is there any special tools/instruction that i should be aware of? I just use disc brake pad spreader to push back caliper piston http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/Pro...egoryCode=3479
any other special tools i need?

thanks,
Tae

No special tools are needed. They will be the same just like any other Japanese cars. I use a C-Clamp and it works just fine for me.

c-clamp to squeeze the piston
19mm socket for lugnuts
17mm and 14mm sockets for caliper and bracket
clothes hanger to hang the caliper
impact screwdriver if the screws are still intact on the rotor
brake cleaner

finally got around to changing mine a couple weeks ago and oh man it was cake.. a LOT better than my pressed on rotors on my old accord..

Welcome to the forum. The TL has very easy brakes to work on. The single hardest part are the stupid bras screws that honda uses to hold the rotor inplace. Many have to drill them out. They arent needed if you do have to.

Agreed for the most part, but the screws are important as they prevent debris from getting trapped between the hat and the hub flange.
