A co-worker has a 99 TL and one of his Xenon bulbs is shot.

He's under the impression that he needs to replace the whole headlamp assembly but that doesn't seem right to me.

Is it possible to just replace the bulb?
Can it be done by a normal person or will the dealer have to do it?
And how much should it cost?

just a bulb and any one cand do it. its just like changing a regular bulb, oh and dont buy the bulb from the dealer, their gonna rape you

 

Where do you recommend getting the bulb then? I have a '99 also, and I wonder when my bulbs will die...can I get the stock ones somewhere else? Just for future reference....thanks

What about from the factory? I see these Phillips lights are "upgrades" from our stock, I really dont care to upgrade to 6000K, I think our stock is about perfect.

Unless our stock bulbs are similar in price, then I couldnt justify spending almost $300 bones for 2 bulbs...IMO
