Replacement resonator.

First mod to the car ('00 tl) was simply removing the stock resonator/mid muffler. I have since put on Apexi N1 Mufflers, and they have a great roar, no rasp AT ALL, however, there is a minor cabin drone at about 1.6krpm - 2.2krpm, its not bad at all, passengers don't even notice, but seeing how I'm in it daily, its a minor drawback.

my question is, if i put on, say a dynomax or thrush(sp?) resonator(not sure which would be better) , will this help eliminate the issue, or am i stuck with it?..

thx for the info.

all resonators do their job.. its mainly finding one large enough to deaden the sound the amount you want.. MOST exhaust shops can start with a smaller one and work up to a larger one until your satisfied with the sound.. just start off with one roughly the same size and work from there..

but not cheaply, you be buying all those resonaters proably

also basically everybody with an aftermarket exhaust (or removed resonater) has that drone, so fairly commen, and most people just live to deal with it/get use to it, so it does not bother them anymore

not necessarily.. there was a guy a while back when i was getting some work done on my accord that did the same thing.. the guy welded on a couple different ones until he liked the sound.. all he had to do was run it for a bit, then cut it off.. he just threw it to the side until the next customer purchased that same size.. he DID however pay a bit more laborwise, but the guy that was doing the welding was actually pretty understanding of what the customer was doing..

Thanks for the comments guys.

i went on a 2.5hr trip today to see my father (first trip since installation) and i barely noticed the drone tbh. had it at 65-70 the whole way, 1.7-2krpm, and it wasn't bad at all. just put on some mellow tunes, and enjoyed the ride (although it was terribly foggy.) My dad's a big car nut, ONLY domestic though, and I was basically made fun of it for the looks of the pipes lol, he liked the way it sounded though, which was VERY suprising. in any case, i will most likely just deal with it. just one of those things that will take a bit of getting used to.

thanks again!
