Angry repainted bumper&kit? chips ?

HI all,
for those of you that install body kits that have been painted and or have had the bumper repainted.
have you had any problems with rock chips at all.
the dealer that was working on my brake problem hit something with the car and messed up the bumper. they fixed it, and in a matter of 2 weeks i have about 12 chips or so. I took it back and they gave me a hard time, but they are redoing it today as a one time courtsy repair. I HATE THIS DEALER SO BAD NOW.
I am moving to the detroit area (farmington hills) In 2 weeks and i hope this new paint job holds up or i think i am f**ked.

I hate to tell you this, but unless a REALLY GOOD autobody shop, or else your paint will never come close as the factory's. Those xtremely professional paintshops can only come to about... i'd say 70-80 percent qualit of the factory paint jobs...(usually) ..sorry to hear that tho... ****n aszholez!

Has anybody tried to get one of those MACCO paint jobs?? THey are only like $300 to repaint and seal it. I think the next higher up paint job is something like $699 I was thinking of getting a fresh coat of paint and a body kit when I graduate in about a year. My car has basically perfect paint but a friend puked on my car:yack: and his puke ate a small amount of my clear coat off Anyway he is gonna be chipping about $30-40 to my paint-the-car-after-I-graduate fund. Just trying to get some feedback on these decently priced paint jobs

Talking Re: repainted bumper&kit? chips ?

Yes this happens and it will happen again. My original factory paint was way better than this one. One time a rock hit the car, yes it made a chip, but it also made a dent. In other words the factory paint get's chip, but it takes a lot more for a chip to happen. BTW my current paint is dupont.

The front of my car is getting repainted. I told them not to used the same paint or put a more resistant protective coat or it would happen again. I gave them the warining that if it happens again I will be coming back.

I think that no matter how good the shop is, the aftermarket paint will chip if you drive very fast of course.

I will strongly suggest to put the most resistance protective clear coat. Even if it cost me extra money.

Something like this that comes on the lincoln LS:

DuPont SupraShield
A premium protective coating applied over the vehicle's color basecoat, DuPont SupraShield provides long-lasting appearance improvement. The coating system resists scratching, while maintaining its reflective brilliance.

Paint that is applied to bumpers and other non-metallic body kit parts needs to have a "flex" additive in the paint that will allow it to stand up better. That said, the dealer could simply have done a crappy paint job.

crappy job is wright, they called me in last night to pick it up and there was overspray on the black parts of the bumper and a bolt missing on the bottom left corner.
after the first paint job about 3weeks ago they had the same over spray and i had to complain for them to clean it up. these guys just plain old suck!!

I think the people who painted my WW kit didn't put any flex into the paint. I'm starting to see cracks in the paint! It's really pissing me off. It's been a year now. Any chance of them doing it over for me for free or for cheaper?
Thanks,
Peter.

If you go and complain, then they might repaint it for you for free.
