is that something someone would remove when they slam their TL and throw on bigger rims and as a consequence they'd get rubbing?

Good info..

I figured that was it when I looked at my fenders way back when people were talking about trimming the tabs, but me no got a digicam..

The purpose is to prevent the rear tires from rubbing it. You don't really need to cut it if you don't lower your car.

Only with incorrect offsets or severe lowering....
