Removing Headlight Housing on a 99-01 TL

Hey ya'll

So i'm clearing my headlights (well, just got a pair from the junkyard actually, so they're cleared) all went well in the process BARELY...I almost touched the reflector lens' because my hand slipped, started using latex gloves after that...

and they're painted, the LED strips are installed and the lens are cleared and clean as daylight.

my only problem...how do I take off the old lights?

Every tutorial online that I have seen is for the 02-03 with the updated front end, it's driving me crazy because I can't figure it out!

I know I have to take the front bumper off, but then what??

any help, links, diagrams, pictures would really help

if anything... the 02-03 diy shouldn't differ much for the 99-01

bumpers should come off same way as well as the headlights...

it should be a bunch of 10mm bolts thats holding down the headlights.. just look around after the bumper is off.

if in doubt.. just start taking every bolt off thats 10mm

haha jk. don't do that.

just did this a week or two ago, remove the bumber cover, then you need to remove the seven bolts holding the black brace that runs side to side under the head lights, three bolts per side one's in the corner by the wheel well, two more under the high/low beam area, then one in the very center, pull the brace off then you can remove the two on top of the lens housing, disconnect the three connectors and it's out.

The reflector lens? in the housing? I dont know if you are joking or not cause of the lol, but no it won't kill you. The thing you dont want to touch is when you pull the igniter off the bulb, the inside of the igniter (if you leave the battery connected). Also you dont want to touch the bulb itself as oils degrade the life of it (but it still won't kill you). I just did all this on my 03 TL-S a few weeks ago, have fun.

it creates heat spots and if it is hot from the oven, it can flake off too
