Removing Gauge Face/Needle?

Does anyone know how to remove the gauge faces and needle? I know there is a DIY for replacing the gauges but it doesn't say specifically how to get the needles off without messing them up.

They just pull off but have fun recalibrating them. You cant just push them on with the car off.
