Removed intake resonator-now getting intake noise

Car is an 02 TL-S. Read the posts on here about taking off intake air resonator and nobody noticed any difference in noise level. I removed mine, and the first day, I honestly didn't notice any change in the sound of the car at idle.

However, the second day, I was out in my boat and wife drove the car down to meet me. When I picked her at the ramp, my friend & I both noticed the car was making an almost loud kind of humming/howling (for lack of a better description) sound at idle. It was cooler outside than it has been and the AC was not on. It was loud enough I was worried something was wrong. You can put your ear right over the air box area and tell that is where the noise is coming from.

However, the car has run fine, no issues, but it does now have a distinct humming/howling sound at idle. It has not been as loud as it was that first night I noticed it, but it definitely has a air intake resonance sound to it now.
I guess Acura really did put those on there for a reason....

Any comments on why mine makes a noise and everybody said it would not?

i bought my car with the resonator already off from the previous owner so i honestly dont know what a silenced tl sounds like, but IMO my car is pretty quiet.

Replace the air filter ($25 throw away type) with a $50 K&N low resistance hi flow, washable- reusable for 1 million miles! air filter
clean it once a year for like new performance- easy to do, $10 kit last 5 times

You wont hear noise at idle- just the sound of air accellerating when you hit vtec~ my wife comments how she likes that sound
My 01 is silent at idle-
make sure you grabbed the small piece of plastic connector tube out, along with the big box. And the air filter cover is on tight and sealed, including all its hose clamps
Moving stuff around- things happen

I like this over a cai becasue the puddle/water level is never an issue!

If you havn't already--SEAFOAM that thing ---and really enjoy it~
