I was wondering if anyone has a remote start and how much it will typically cost. I am really looking for something with a single button because I want my factory alarm to still be fumctional. Can I do this without putting an aftermarket alarm?

 

I had remote start in my 2G. I was hooked up because my buddy was a installer at Circuit City before they closed. I believe I bought the unit for $160 used and he charged me $100 to install. The unit was bad so I got a new one free of charge.

It's going to vary on where you are located, I had my stock alarm removed. My friend on the other hand, had his factory alarm still installed when he had remote start and it gave him nothing but issues.

Expect issues with stock alarm and remote starts which often have their own alarm.
Think of it like running 2 anti-virus programs on the computer--its just never happy~

 

Mines was $280 in total. About $100 for the system from amazon, and $180 installation. I recommend buying the system from the installer so that you have that warranty on the system from them along with the installation warranty. I think I still have my stock alarm along with the new one. I'll have to report back on that but i'm pretty positive.

 

Well is what I was really looking for was a 1 button/ 1 click remote setup something that doesnt have a alarm just the remote start itself. Best buy told me that they would have to flash a interface computer. But would yall think this would make my factory alarm choppy still? with just only the remote start alone
