Question Regular vs Sportshift which is faster?

Hey everyone just got a question... From a standstill, does the car move faster using sportsshift or just leaving it in D5 and slamming on the gas? Does one squeal less than the other, since squealing slows you down.
I've tried both but can't tell. I'd like every advantage I can when I pull up at lights.

The best way to take off is to put it in SS, turn VSA off, and gun it. Let the computer shift 1st to 2nd in SS for you since it goes all the way to redline this way. Shift the rest of the way yourself, or flip it back into D5 after the 1st to 2nd shift. If your in a race, make sure you hold 3rd gear all the way (I mean slightly int the red portion of the RPM band), cause once you shift into 4th, there's a considerable loss of power.

BTW, wheel spin off the line is not necessarily a bad thing because when it catches, the car lunges forward quicker since your at a higher RPM.

i tend to think that with vsa off the car is faster off the line. coz' i have tried, when vsa is on, the computer actually shut down the gas a bit to let the car go, whereas with vsa off the car squeal for a while and gun out.

as for ss vs auto, i would say ss. ss shifts faster when needed, plus you can hold gear at 2nd and 3rd longer. with auto, your foot slight off the gas and the car will shift, nothing something you wanna do.

It is true that SS shifts 10% faster than D5.

the car will run exactly the same in SS or full auto.........remember it's still an automatic tranny in SS it just lets you decide when to shift. In WOT the car will shift at redline automatically when in full auto.

with VSA i would think it would help you out if it was off. As long you don't sit there and rost tires. I haven't been out to the track with it yet so i'm not sure on the VSA.

acura states that with SS on the TL-S it shifts 10% faster... also, according to my runs at the strip, VSA off is definitely the faster way to go, on the average of a .2 second difference.

ok acura is saying 10% faster in SS mode......when doing the quarter there are what (i'm not sure on this since i haven't been to the tracks) 2 shifts made. the 1-2 and the 2-3 shifts. With 10% faster shifts on these two shifts is probably around less than a tenth of second difference. This is if you are perfect when shifting. Keep in mind most humans can not do thing better than a computer. So if you have human error factored in you will probably run the same time or possibly even slower that just leaving it in the full auto.

so when you say which is faster this is why i say they are the same.

The answer to this question in my quess would be no difference in 1/4 mi. times due to reaction time variables. I will say this however, in my car if I use manual shifted (well sorta) D1 to D2 and so on my car seems quicker because D1 hangs on just a little longer than SS.
