regarding replacing bose speakers
hi, my friend bought an acura(year 2000) too and he knew that all the speakers were blown when he bought it.(got it at a discount.)
Now he is trying to replace them. He recently bought the bose subwoofer and two back speakers from ebay. What are the total speakers in the acura? Is it 6 speakers and a subwoofer?
And are there any tips for refitting them in a fine way?

cost for replacing
he got bose oem speakers for damn cheap price on ebay.
now when approached a mechanic to install them, he quoted about $120; which is almost more than twice of what he got speakers for.
for two speakers in the doors, he said its $50(for both)
and for sub; he said that there is lot of work involved - like removing the seats and stuff. And wants $80.
Is there any easy way out of this?

It's simple and straightforward to replace them with stock speakers. Two screws in each door and the panels just pop off, the speakers have a wire harness, just unplug them. Taking the back seat out is easy, I think its 4 or 5 bolts and the back dash comes out pretty easy. It would probably take as much time to replace the sub as it would all 4 of the speakers. $80 doesn't seem bad for the sub, but the door speakers can all be replaced in about 20 minutes.
