Exclamation Recall Service Sucks..

I am not going to talk about 06 tl... I have 2000 3.2tl and I have a problem on my 2nd gear on my trasmission which it is on recall..
I called dearship in MD, said" You are not covered by recall warranty because your car has over 100,000 miles..."
I felt so mad.,.I didn't know if my car was under recall before because Acura is suposed to notice about the recall to me...I never have not noticed by Acura because I am 2nd buyer of this car..!?
Now, I figured this out but too late..If they have noticed me earlier, this wound be happened..I don't know what I am going to do..especaily, I am a student, I have no money to get my transmission repaired....Can anyone give me advice?? please..

There are many stories on this forum where people have had there transmission replaced after 100k.. i believe the common thing was that Acura paid for the new transmission but you were still responsible for the labor.. search im sure youll have the Corporate number for Acura somewhere... they KNOW there is a problem with the Trannies

You are the 2nd owner of the car. How is Acura supposed to know this? You should have checked with your local dealer or reasearched before buying the car. Its no ones fault but your own.

Acura might cover it if you call Acura corporate. good luck

A recall is a recall. You're entitled to an oil jet kit on your transmission even if you've got 450k on a 2000 TL that's been totalled in an accident, submerged under water, and set ablaze.

The 7/100k warranty on the transmissions applies to the cars no matter how many owners they have, given that they have never had salvage titles.

It's very for Acura to deny a transmission replacement to anyone. The second owner, or 45th owner.. the transmission is designed poorly and that's no one's fault but Acuras.

I don't think the point is that they're denying it because he's the 2nd owner. They are denying it because he's got over 100k miles. ArN is simply stating that it was his job to check recalls for any car he bought - which I certainly agree with. He was never mailed a notice from Acura because he is the second owner, and Acura cannot track resales (and shouldn't be required to).

Maybe he's not too far over 100k - and they will cover him.

Thanks for your suggestion...I just called 1-800 # but he also said if it is under 100k, it is not covered...bull shit...however, he gave me an option..if I talk to manager at dealership.. I could just pay for labor but parts..
still, don't trust them now...who knows they are going to charge me only for labor..
they may charge me more and more...for labor...
it was nov..I got trasmission checked up first time for free..because they knew there is a recall on my transs..I don;t know what they did to it!! now it is got worse..last night, my transmission broke down...it was 11pm nowhere to go..I was so mad...because what I wondered is just happened...
I just drop the car at the independant shop..but didn't do anything to it..I try to figure out what is the best way I can go...eventhough, I take it to acura dealership..it is not guarrantieed that I am going to get service right..like he told me "ask manager at the dearship...and pay for only labor,," I am going crazy...help~~~somebody help....Is acura still a good car??? sell this transmission..and it is not covered by recall warranty???it is bull shit...
I still need you guys's help.. thanks...

As a side note,.. recalls should go to the current owner of any affected car because the notices are sent to a distribution list comprised by the DMV. As long as your car is acurately mentioned in your registration as well as your personal information, you should receieve any recall notices distributed by the dealer. The DMV, not the dealer, keeps track of transfer of ownership.

What do you mean by that? If its 100k or less its covered under warranty! How many miles do you have on your car?

Also the Recall DOES NOT apply to the 3rd gear clutch pack problem. only the 2nd gear shaft and the oil jet kit which does NOTHING for the 3rd gear problem which we all have
