Angry recall??

this sucks...i've had my TL for 3 weeks now, it's going back to the dealer for the second time tomorrow to fix a paint problem on the door, and now i just got a recall notice for my water pump and timing belt..WTF!!!

On another note...anyone know why my car shifts 1st to 2nd at like 3000rpm in SS???

Sorry to hear that man. I can relate with the paint problem. But not the water pump. I just got my car back yesterday after a WHOLE MONTH at the dealer. They had to repaint my WHOLE car. There was bubbles in the paint in couple of panels, so they offer to repaint the whole car. It took them 3 to 4 weeks. It was cool, i got all my dents and dings taken out for free. I was driving a new RSX all that time.
**Advise --- When you take your car in for the paint problem, BE VERY ANAL ABOUT IT!!! Trust me, customer is always RIGHT!
Good luck!

You definitely weren't the first... there are many on here, dating back to the '01 CL... do a search, you'll find many topics about it.

agean - I hear ya... but at least the car is getting fixed for nothing. It's a hassle to get it to the dealer, but at least it will be fixed. The water pump thing did not affect me which means it's probably not too big of a problem. The dealer will do a quick swap and you'll be on your way. A lot of cars have TSBs or recalls, so don't sweat it. Just get it fixed then enjoy the ride

I agree with Juniorbean on a very good point he made. Basically, all cars have problems. I challenge anyone to find a car without a TSB or a recall. It's not very likely that you will find one.

Unfortunately, the TL's have suffered from the tranny blowing which is a lot worse than paint imperfections. It _is_ a pain in the ass for the dealer to have your car for a while, but at least it's covered under warranty.

Best thing to do: Get the problem fixed and get back to enjoying your nice ride.

asloudasitgets...i've got a '03. i got a letter in the mail yesterday, if you don't get one, i guess you're in the clear. i know i saw a thread somewhere that specified the vin #'s affected though.
