Hmm... sway bars come into mind. From what I've read, sway bars (especially rear) give a much better increase in rigidity for our front-wheel-drive cars than strut bars. Don't know if it's worth the time and effort into making a custom setup, although it sure seems like a fun DIY project.

This is probably not the best place to ask about rear strut bars imo, perhaps you can try asking at some other forum (not trying to advertise any here, mods) like honda-tech.com, v6performance.net, honda-acura.net, and jdmuniverse.com where more hardcore modders on a wide variety of cars gather. Keep us updated on this.

Well, a sway bar would not increase rigidity of the car, the strut bar would. Sway bars will stop the roll of the car in corners (or subdue it).

How would you be able to fit the this strut bar back there with the rear deck? Or is that not where it's going to go?

There is no need for you to make a rear strut bar for the TL. If memory serves me right, a member of the other Acura forum used an aftermarket lower rear tie bar that fits the Accord, and it fits the TL.

No, not the rear deck. It's installed underneath the car. What he meant was lower rear tie bar, similar to what the front lower Cusco tie bar does but installed in the rear.

i always thought the term 'strut bar' meant that it was coming across the top.

if he were to make a rear strut, then it'd come across the rear deck where the speakers are.

just make it!!!!

where the heck would that go??? the rear deck and seats are there - no room to work around in there, unless I am missing something?

definitely no room. The deck pratically sits on top of the rear strut bolts. The TL's also have a sub that's in the way.

there's definitely no room to hide the bar, but you can always have the bar go over the sub. since it's gonna be custom one that seems to be the best option, imo. just need to cut the rear back dash for the bar to protrude upward. anyways good luck, post pics.

Well since its doesn't make an improvement i dont want to bother making it , i will probably just go ahead and make some pulley since that will give the car a little more boost. But maybe later on the line i will make the rear strut. I talked to my Machinist today and he told me he can make the same pulley system as the UR so i might just make another cheaper alternative for us TLers. I will talk to mod for permission for gb if this comes through.

UR ROCKS!! They make some pretty high quality stuff. I bet they would allow a group buy if you could get enough people for them.

I'll be quiet though since it seems as though group buys aren't allowed......

they are allowed, you just have to be a registered vendor on the site and pay the fees - we have a GB for the pullies before.
