Rear ENDED!

Hey guys-

I just got a 2002 TL just under 2 months ago. Today, as I was driving home from the store, a Chevy truck (HUGE) rear ends me when i was stopped at a red light. It just kinda makes me mad. I mean I know it will be fixed, but I will always know that the rear part of my car was smashed in. Why can't people just look where they are going? Argh. Anyways, The problem is that I have to leave for Austin by next Wednesday. Do you guys have any advice on how to speed up the whole ordeal?

BTW, the person who rear ended me was an employee of Enterprise Rent a Car so they have their own insurance that is going to take a while from the sound of it. Also, I am going to have to make a special trip back up here to Dallas to pick up my car. I was thinking they might be able to give me a loaner big enough to accomidate my school stuff. Do you guys think it would be asking too much if I asked for a car a bit nicer than a cavalier or lumina?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer forth and sorry for the long post.

-Burt

P.S. For people who are concerned with the little squeaks and rattles in their car...get an earful of MY car and you'll know how good you have it. Peace.

Make sure you inform your own insurance company too. Your insurance's lawyers will usually light a fire under the other guy's insurance adjuster and get them to hurry up and pay.

So sorry to hear that... maybe you should have come out of the car cringing and holding your neck... hee

Damage isn't too bad. The whole bumper will probably have to be replaced as well as part of the side. Geez. Also, there is a pretty bad scratch on the lip part of the rim. I'm not sure if that was from the accident though but I dont' remember it being there before. Anyways, this blows. I hope it is just the body panels that are busted up and nothing underneath...I did jam my arm pretty bad b/c i was holding the steering wheel when he hit me. I'm not sure. I have to leave for college in 5 days! This is never going to work out!!!! Thanks guys.

Dallas Meet

Ruf-

Well, I won't be able to be there with my TL. I called Enterprise today and all they have are domestic cars so I might have to show up in a Pontiac Grand Prix or Chevy Lumina if I show up at all. This really puts a kink in the rest of my break. Dealing with insurance companies is going to be a hassle. I'm kinda glad that I waited on putting the mods on my car though. They were supposed to do it this week, but my schedule got messed with. I guess I wouldnt' have gotten rear ended had my car been in the shop, but oh well, who knows. :-( <-- a very sad TL owner

Sorry to hear that Longhorn that really sux. Ppl have to learn to pay more attention to the road. I've even seen ppl reading while cruising at 45 WTF? And the cellphones, good as they may be, are a definate distraction. Hope everything goes well for you.
