I see also that canadian owners have fewer color combos from which to choose, and that the power window switches do not illuminate for passengers.

Of course, you guys also miss out on the beast possible color - White Diamond Pearl, the color I have!

We definitely have fewer colour choices up here, but we definitely do have the lit up power window switches for driver and passengers.

Yeah, that would help with those French road signs. Seriously, what is the % of people there who do not speak English?

I'm surprised we don't have alternate signage in Spanish here in Texas...

You're definitely right. I came to Montreal 4 years ago, and still have problems to remember some of the street names in French.
I think most of the people in Montreal can speak English, but if you go to country side, you might need a translator.

I took my TL to toronto and Montreal over the summer. Had a lot of fun and my Navi still worked there. I didn't have road maps but at least I knew what direction I was headed and my distance. Acura says they are considering Mexico and Canada for future dates.

Regarding costs - my front door lens got broken during bulb replacemen - the new one was $10.49 list. For one small piece of molded plastic. So I can only imagine how much the whole conversion would run...

I think this was one off the cost cutting things to the 99TL that made it $5,000 cheaper than the 1998. I had rear courtesy light on my 1994 ACCORD EX Sedan.

Someone please post a pic of what the rear courtesy light looks like on the TL. You can email me the pic and I'll post it.

Canadian TL

As a Canadian Tl owner and native Quebecer, I thought that I would wade in on the distinctions between our two great lands.

While it is true that we do not get DWP, while is my least favorite colour (note the different spelling of the word "colour")

The unavailability of the navigation system is a more significant deletion. I officially have the world's worst sense of direction and would benefit from such an option.

The sign language issue is more serious. Of the 30 million people in Canada (approximately the same number as in California), 7.5 million are native French speakers.

Highway signs under federal responsibility (airports and railways), are posted in both official laguages. Outside Quebec, signs can be in any language. Within Quebec, all outside signs MUST be in French ONLY. This measure was designed to protect the "French Face" of Quebec.

This clear Constitutional violation of freedom of expression has largely been upheld by our Supreme Court.

On the bright side, there is active discussion in Ontario about raising the lgal speed limit to 120 kilometres per hour Approx 75 mph). Of course, your aftermarket parts dollar goes 50% farther here.

Cheers

I don't see why they don't have navi there. It would be easier for Canadians to drive through the US ont just Canada and for us to get around up there. It doesn't make any sense. Still no pic of this rear courtesy light!
