Really Ticked Off!!!

Check the axles. My buddy popped one at the dragstrip, and he was scared to drive it, so I had to drive all the way home. It shook like crazy, went away at certain speeds, came back, etc, etc.
Take it to Tuffy's; they offer free estimates. A new axle from Tuffy's (off-brand, but with a warranty) should cost around 100-150 bucks including labor. After reading through all the posts, I think there's a good chance the axle might be bent or popped.

try to find someone you know with another TL or Honda with 16" wheels (at least) and swap tires.
I did that this week and narrowed it down to the wheels. When I swapped wheels, my car rode as smooth as silk. It really helped that I found someone willing to do so. He had the old 2000 16" wheels and was happy to be rolling on my 17" type S rims. He did notice the vibration in his car as well with my wheels on it.
Turns out the guy who did my road force balance using a GSP9700 (?) screwed it up last time. He didnt place weights on both side of the rim, only on one side. I went back, told him that dynamic balance is important for tires with low profiles on high offset rims.
Well, I took it back. Watched him do it and he placed the tires accordingly on the car depending on the road force number.
Well, at least the steering wheel no longer vibrates with my old tires back on.
I think I still feel my ass shake around 50, but I havent driven it enough to be sure. I just had this done last night so not many miles were placed.
I am soooo glad this saga is over... knock on wood.
I still think I want to get a set of 16" wheels for long trips on the highway. They really gave me a smooth, quieter ride.

i got new set of OEM rims, Michellin Energy tires and a set of axxis ultimate brake pads. i get that feeling too. i heard that this happens because of the ABS.. i dont know why im supposed to feel it, but its really annoying.. it feels like the car's really unstableon a high speed turn while riding slightly on the brakes.

As a matter of fact, I am still having this freaking issue and it is driving me nuts.
I am seriously looking into my pockets and new car specs to buy another freaking car. I hate to almost say it, but never again, Acura.
I even had a road-force balance done last week! Nothing!
I am coaxing a guy from work with his 2000 TL to put his stock 16's on my car and see if it goes away. At least I know its not the wheels if it doesnt.
Either way, if its not a 200 or 300 dollar fix, Im selling the bitch.
Its a shame because I really like the TL and will have to downgrade with my next car. This one is just costing too much for me to keep trying to solve this problem.
BTW, what kind of ride do you two guys have? Miles? Explain some of the history you have had with it and what not. It would be curious to see if we are on the same boat.

I have a 01 Tl, 128k. This has been an issue for a while for me. It goes away for a little while after I put new tires on, the it comes back. From the wrapped Irotors and the vibration at certain speeds I learned to deal with it for the moment until I buy new rotors. I drive at high speeds 80% of the time so I only feel the vibration when hitting around 40mph then I'm good, until I brake LMAO. But I really would like to get that corrected. I see you had road balance that helped somewhat, maybe I'll do the same.
