Re: Scratches!!!!
Re: Scratches!!!!
hey guys,
i was washing my car, and i noticed all these scatches all over the car! i think it was because i wasnt using a 100% cotton towel. but basically i have scatches all over my driver side of my car and my front hood. there not swirl marks, they look like someone key my car, but not that deep.
i was thinking of buying zaino products to try to buff out the scratches since its an polish "abrasive" compared to wax and maybe a clay bar also. will these products help ???
did this every happen to you guys? have any other suggestions besides zaino??
acura paint sucks!!!!!!....sigh.........
thx for your input!!!!

You scratched the paint and it is Acura's fault??????
Clay does not remove scratches.
I would strongly suggest that based on your experience and knowledge, a trip to a professional shop to handle this might be your best course. Turning a newbie loose on paint with polishing compounds and buffers is a risky scheme, to quote Alphone Gore.\
I would try Meguiar's #9 first, which is designed for hand usage. If it doesn't help, get professional assistance.

A towel left scratches that look like your car was keyed?? What was the towel made of, sandpaper? I certainly hope these are the same towels you use in the bathroom! :-)
I'd follow Paul's advice and have a professional look at it, the last thing you want to do is make a bad situation worse.

I had buffer swirls and some very fine scratches when I picked my car up. I used P21S Paintwork Cleansing Lotion and it worked very well. Turned around and used it on the explorer and it looked new again.

I also noticed some minor scratches and swirl marks in my paint and it was driving me nuts. I went out and purchased Meguiars Cleaner Wax and Megiuars Gold Class Wax. It took me about 3 hours to apply both waxes and it made a HUGE difference. What's nice is that you can apply wax to the whole car and then take it off.
I use diaper soft cloths purchased at my local auto parts store to remove wax.

Where do you get this P21S? I still have 2 applications of Zaino's Z5 to go but if that doesn't work on the fine scratches, I want to use the P21S.
Thanks for your response.
