rattles in trunk (sub)

ok i did some searching but didnt find anything really. i have 1-3 layers of damplifier on my entire trunk, most bulked up on the front (where the emblems are)

the top of the lid doesent rattle at all, but on big bass hits, the front rattles alot. any ideas how i can stop this? damp helped a ton but isnt there yet

more sound damper on the front of the trunk lid

also have you pulled out the stock sub, so the tunes can go into the cabin itself, instead of just staying in the trunk for the most part (by the way it almost sounds like is that you are building enough air pressure which finds the easiest way out [aka the trunk lid's front])

hmmm thats weird. i have one layer of dynamat, most of my rattles are gon, unless my BTL decides to hit the low lows, then it sounds like ass even with the dynamat. but i found that my rattes arent from the lid, its from the rear deck. what version of Damplifier are you using?

I've got the same problem with the rear deck. My rear deck has dynamat but the bass hits so hard that the rear deck hits the back window. I'm not quite sure what to do about that yet.

put a brace across the front edge so, so it cannot flex any

on my old 00, i actually loosened the bolts on where the locking mechanism would lock down to and slid it down just a bit, of course the trunk closed a little bit more then it should have and looked kind of weird, but it stopped all the rattling. man am i ever glad that ive grown up since then, i cant handle anything more then a 10" now a days.

Shit man, I'm 30 and still have two 12"s in the trunk and 3 amps.

Sit on the trunk? I'll let you come sit on my trunk while I'm driving 55 to 65 mph. Horrible advice!

Try loosening the 2 rubber things under the trunk lid that touch the chassis when closing the trunk.....its adjustable.....i turned them to the left as if i was loosing them up till the piont where it almost cums out but not completely...trunk closes tighter/stiffer...stopped the rattling in my trunk and i have no dynamat.

Your emergency trunk release might be the culprit. My rear deck is where most of my rattles are though. I'm going to take everything apart here soon and wedge some insulation between it and the rear windshield and see if that helps.

I think we have all learned not to mess with the emergency trunk release.

Unless you know what your doing of course.

I didn't mean take apart the trunk release, I meant removing the rear seats and fixing the rear shelf rattle. I think I might get some Dynamat for the trunklid to fix the other problem.
