So I got my friend to check out my radio. He figured out that each bulb has a 24 ohm SMT resistor before it. He desoldered one of them and replaced it with a 470 ohm resistor and desoldered the bulb and put in an LED. Not sure how he came about it, but he figured out the voltage going to the bulb was 12v and the 470 ohm resistor would bring it down to 25ma, pushing the LED hard but we were just doing one to see if he was right.
So did it work? I apologize for the blurry pics.
It looks hella cool! A little brighter than the other LEDs which are running at 17.6ma... we'll redo the one we did so far with a 680 ohm resistor to match and do the rest with 680 as well.
I'm still not sure if we'll be able to replace the bulbs behind the radio LCD... they are really stuck. We'll see.
Heres some pics of the radio face with one broken bulb (I broke one to take a voltage measurement, ah well):

Woohoo! Spent all night doing the radio. I decided to do it myself, after seeing my friend do it I found it to be pretty easy. I desoldered 10 SMT resistors and soldered in new ones. Then I desoldered 10 bulbs and soldered in the LEDs. The radio screen, which I was worried about not being able to replace, is lit by a single bulb. I replaced it (very carefully as it is under a piece of plastic you can't remove) with a 5mm LED. I'll post more details about how I did it all when I make a write up at the end of the project.

I also did some work on the shifter light. I made a clip that will allow me to plug the LED in the stock holder. Then I'll cut the wire going to the clip and put a resistor inline.

C'mon guys, its real easy!
I did the LCD lights that are on the gauges... they are HOT!!! :wow: I also did the shifter light but it came out real real dim... I'll try and do it a little better. Left my camera at work so no pics until tomorrow night!

Thanks guys!
Ya but then I'd have to change out all the door speakers, buy an amp and HU, and find some way to make the HU surround look pro...
Check out the gauge LCD... I need another LED for the center of it (you can see its slightly dim). I'll take pics on how I modified the clip to accept an LED when I get more (hopefully soon)

Hey Nate,
Can you post instructions on how to change the lights where the mileage/temperature readings are and also the turn signals above it. Also, how many and what kind of bulbs will we need? Thanks.

great job Nate...some questions:
what did you do about the gear indicator in the guage? did you leave them green/red? wondering if theres anyway to get at them...of course it might be different from the accord....
and for the lights on your dash (radio/climate control/clock) do you think it'd be possible to mix colours? like red for the switches and blue for the screen (like the VW dash)? or are different coloured LEDs underneath going to conflict with each other (colours overlapping and mixing)?

Makes sure you post intallation instructions and what brand/model/specs/where to buy "LED" Also what tools are need it and any other parts involve? Once you have time to do that, then I will start doing it. For now I'll just sit and wait. I have to give you credit for all the great work. Thanks again.
