Radio wants a CODE!?!?!

Yup, i was putting an Injen 2pc CAI on my car yesterday and I was having trouble reaching a nut next to the battery so i decided to pull it off... I finish and take my toy for a test drive. Then, both my NAV and my radio ask for a "CODE". I found the NAV code on a little sticker-paper the dealership gave me when i updated my GPS but no radio codes...Does anyone know how can i find this out if not what it is?

Oh, the intake is amazing, everyone should have one! it makes a sound that could scare Carrera GTs away, it makes my engine sound like it has 900HP in it even though the power gains are very small (w/ 4.5ppl onboard (lil bro) and a full tank)

Thanks in advance duds.

There's usually a card with both codes in your cars instruction book. If you can't find it at all, you can bring your car to a dealer where they can look it up for you (but I think they need to take the HU out or something - dunno if they can run it using just your VIN or not)

Call up your dealer. Give them the serial number to the radio. They'll make sure you own the car, and give you the code.

The code might be under the fuse box cover under the hood on the passenger side. At least mine is over there.

my code is no where in my car. no where. its not even on the back of the radio. that really pisses me off. what i did though was called the dealer (as recommended by natismati) and once i faxed them proof of ownership they had it to me in about 20 minutes. good luck!

Except you have to take the radio unit out of the dash to get to the serial number.

On my 2003 you can hold the 1 and 6 preset button at the same time while turning on the radio, and it will flash the serial number on the display.

Wow - I hope it doesn't do that when its in the mode where it needs the code! Otherwise; it would be a little pointless.

Yes, it does it when you need the code. It flashes the serial number, not the code. That way you don't have to take out the entire radio to get the serial number. If you're worried about a theif getting the serial number too easy, it doesn't matter, if it's stolen, it's already out of your dash, and they can just get the number from the back of the radio.
