radio interference

Had my cell phone sitting in the cubby space under the radio yesterday. Before the phone rang I heard clicking noises through the speakers for a few seconds. Also, when I power up my cell phone and it reaches a signal, the noises happen again. Any thoughts on this, ever happened to anyone?
Oh yeah.. that happens all the time.. I have a cell phone and a 800Mhz work radio/cellphone.. it's on the same frequency as receivers and speakers.. if I have my work phone sitting next to my desk phone/speakerphone, and something gets dispatched to it.. it's real loud.
the Frequencies are very close in the 800/900 Mhz band.. not uncommon at all.. nothing to worry about. It also affects some unshielded monitors.. if i have my phone/radio next to the monitor.. it will tweak the signal out.

pretty normal, I'm afraid. The only cool thing about it is I reach for my phone before it actually rings sometimes b/c I hear the popping first, and it freaks my passengers out =).

Yes, it's normal..it's convenient though because I know when the phone's gonna ring when I have the radio loud because of that noise..I have the same problem with the speakers on my computer at work..

That's normal. It happens to me all the time. Just turn off the radio when you are on the phone.

Yeah this is bound to happen. The mobile phone and the raido shares the air waves surrounding you. Have you ever placed your phone next to your monitor and have it go off? It does some funky stuff to your display for a sec. Not sure what happens there, maybe the waves from the mobile phone messes with the CRT. Dunno...but just intresting.

Even when I'm out on police patrol, i get interference on my portable too...Look at the interference it does to our radios, imagine what it can do to the systems in an airplane if you don't shut it when they tell you to... YIKES!!
