Question Racks

Could someone reccomend a good rack that fits our cars? I'm going snowboarding soon so I need something to put my boards since they don't fit in the car. I'm worried about scraping the roof or the rack flying off... so if anyone has a good rack please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Try Thule or Yakima. Both make racks for our cars.

If you are worried about the rack coming off, I recommend Yakama. http://www.yakima.com/ Check their web site for fit info. They are pricey though. Be aware the towers will touch your paint. Be sure to clean the paint and the rubber foot on the tower very well. You may also want to put some clear bra material down if you are really picky about the paint. Especially NBP! Another option is a window mounted rack. I've seem them in the past but I none I remember recently. Living in Colorado I see a lot of ski and board racks. I might also recommend a hidden trailer hitch and then a rack that attaches to that. No touchy paint but very expensive. If you find a good HIDDEN trailer hitch, post a reply or PM me. Check some big sporting goods shops or web sites. But your local shops may have racks for surf boards instead of snowboards. www.gartsports.com or www.rei.com or www.rei-outlet.com would be good starting places. Either that or trade your board for skis and use the pass through. J/K

Davediego: Try telemark skiing if you need a challenge or leg work out!
