and I find it very hard to believe that you would have taken him seeing how our cars have a hard time against the g35 sedan....and the coupes are a bit lighter and more powerful...

did he forget the gas was on the right?

NOS!!! Good kill but not fair, you will win all the time. Unless he use nitrous, he will never win. 280hp vs well over 300hp of instant power. I gess he asked for it right? Keep up the good work.

His car is also five years old. The G35C is brand new. You take an 03 TL-S with his mods, and it will be 20 cars ahead.

Things that make you go hmm....

I raced a 2002 TLS with my cousins automatic 2001 Audi S4 and smoked it...but then again the S4 is an actual Sport race car and the TL is a mid class luxury car that happens to be cheap and fast.

Anyway I raced a g35 last night and it was a tie so I cant see a TLS nitrous or not beating the G35.

Btw if the TLS is such a quick car why does it need hop ups like Nitrous and headers to compete.

I own a TL and I tend race everybody too...guess thats why we keep trashing trannys.

Not everyone with TL tranny trouble races: I'm 51, and old enough to know there are faster AND slower cars than mine, so I don't "get on it" too often--well, my transmission decided to go AWOL last week at the ripe old age of 2 years and 15000 miles. I hope I can get to the dealer on the 9th when my appointment is scheduled. . .

Then why did you bother racing one in your "sporty" s4? How about finding an M3/5 in your stock sportmobile. That was a silly comment, noob...With that wonderful logic, why does anyone modify a car?

r10apple you can take your noob comment and ram it. You say why did I race the TL? Why do you guys challenge cars in that class then claim victory almost everytime! Acura will keep raising the price of the TL till young people cant afford it. Driven a LS430 lately. that car kills any tl yet it costs 60,000 Lexus will never make a 28,000 to 30,000 with that V8 for us..

We are not the group Acura is shooting for as most people on this board got thier cars used..

I bought my car for the 1st owner who were in thier 60s and the tranny went on them 2 times so I take back my previous comment on that...just cot the records.

Acura TL is great for the car it is now..

Nuff Said!

Your post is all over the place...I'd be here all day picking at it for some sort of response...Did you read what you were writing or did my "noob" comment completely blow your gasket?

ps--I'll bite for two of 'em: No, my car isn't in the same class as an LS430 (yes, I've driven one--this past weekend in fact) and secondly, I can't recall ever rolling an S4 and certainly, I would never claim to...

If Acura isn't targeting people in our age bracket (I'm assuming you mean young males around 20-30) then why is the new '04 TL leaning more towards a "sports sedan"? Acura advertises that the car is shorter and more nimble than the previous gen, and its offering an A-Spec package with 18" rims, stiffer springs, lowered, and better tires.

I believe that the TL Type S was Acura's first step at trying to appeal to a younger demographic, and they've done so. The '04 TL continues the tradition of trying to appeal to a younger market. The RL is where Acura wants to reel in people that might be considering an LS430.

And by the way, just so you know I bought my '03 TL-S brand new... Not second hand. I believe there are quite a few people here that bought their cars new and not second hand ... I know virtually all of the TL-S owners I've met at meets bought the car new.

And perhaps the reason you almost always see victory races and rarely see losing races is because people don't post about it when they lose! They post stories about when they win ... So you may think that people are either bs'ing and making up all of their kills ... when in fact for every kill story, there were 10 or 20 losses that just weren't posted here.

i post when i lose!! i think the boards are a place for the spread of knowledge. if a person ignores certain parts, then we have deprived everyone else of the knowledge that individual has/obtained.
thats why i post thoroughly and keep my story objective and truthful. i know when i read honest experiences and then go out and experience it myself i am reassured.

I'm offended .. i am 30 years old and yes, my 99 TL was bought second hand.. but what do i see, my wife drives a brand spanking new 03 MDX with the works on it.. Not to mention my shiney new 'toy car' S2000 in the garage for the "fun drives" ..

Please, don't stereo type. There's plenty of people around my age whom can either afford a new TL or have the means to lease or loan money for a new one.

I chose for a second hand 99 back then because i had just purchaged a (yes) second hand 1978 Cessna airplane.. Nothing wrong with buying a second hand car if your priorities are elsewhere you know.

hehe

I volunteer for the "commemerative airforce" as well, i fly WW2 era planes there.

The Cessna is taken very well care off of course, it's perfectly save to fly it. It's a lot more dangerous to drive on the Los Angeles streets than to fly my little airplane.

LOL .. I am actually planning on getting an 04 TL next year

As long as the airplane is well maintained (and it is), it's mostly safe to fly it, i know people with 50's and 60's Cessna's that are not as well kept up as mine Keep in mind, it's just wood/sheet metal with an engine in it There's not much that can break electronically (as it has NONE of that, apart from an after market GPS).. the engine is as simple as they get, a 5 year old with an engine manual can fix it

First of all, you're talking about a 60 000 dollar car. Secondly, the majority of ppl that own the LS430 are over 50 yrs. old. Generally a 50 year old doesn't go around finding young punks to race, and certainly not in his LS430. So I think you're totally wrong with that comment. And seeing how heavy the LS430 is, I would certainly be willing to take one on someday.

Before posting something stupid next time, think about what you say.
