I'm a former owner of a 5th Gen (1998) Honda Prelude and their transmissions are NOTORIOUS for dying. Well I had the luck of the straw and it happened TWICE to me. I sold it and don't want to deal with it anymore. So my question is: Are 2nd Gen TL's also this bad with transmissions? (I've heard a couple dying). Is it really as bad as the Preludes? Thanks

 

Oh yeah, What's Acura new Drivetrain waranty?

 

Just as bad...they are warranteed up to 100K so if you gonna get one , enjoy up to 100K and get rid of it. I just bought one tonight an 03 TL-S and thought about it for a month. I was debating between a Maxima or this but since I love Acuras/Hondas so much I decided to take my chances on the tranny. I'm sure I'll need a new one in about 20K miles. No regrets though still a beautiful car in and out.
