Quick resonator question

If I take out my resonator do I have to put anything in its place like the mid muffler?

Are you talking the exhaust resonator? or intake resonator?

^ for sound, you can remove your intake resonator and/or delete the midmuffler.

removing your intake resonator would make your car growl when you're WOT. removing your midmuffler would make a slight droning noise from 2-3k rpms. imo, the two cheapest engine mods you can possibly do in terms of sound. i've done both before and i was satisfied (even though i ended up getting a CAI and an exhaust).

if you remove your intake resonator, you won't need anything to replace it. just simply take it out and you're done.

as for the midmuffler, you would have to go to a muffler shop. they'll cut off the midmuffler and replace it with a straight pipe. make sure they use the exhaust stand before they cut it off, or your whole exhaust will violently drop/hang to the floor and you will possibly rip your o2 sensor wire off the plug! <- that's what happened to me.

WOT = wide open throttle, your foot all the way down the gas.

droning = the deep exhaust noise your car makes. some people hate the droning noise of an exhaust, but i personally like it.

droning usually occurs during the 2-3k rpm band range.
