When you turn the key to the On position, right before you crank the car, the car beeps. What exactly is this beeping about? Is it the time the car needs to get the fuel pump ready? Is it best to wait for the beeping to stop? And how come sometimes it doesnt beep?

Mine does not beep and its a 2000 as well. Not sure what the beeping would be. Do you have a aftermarket alarm or something, maybe its the kill switch

No seat memory in 2000. Try to buckle up next time before you turn the key, it does sound like seat belt reminder.

 

No beep if you put your seat belt first before you turn on the switch.

wow, you guys were right. I went and tried it. I put the belt on first, and then turned the key. There was no beeping.
