Questoin on Resistors...
I got some 3mm red LEDs (ONE MILLION MCD!!!!) for my radio conversion and the rest of my car....it comes with resistors too for 12v. But I was reading when the car is on Itll prolly be up to 14 volts...Is it alright if I use the resistors that come with them?
(There 15,000MCD). I think ill be alright cause I used resistors that came with my white LEDs for my LED door handles and there fine. I know theres some LED educated peeps out there (Ontario and CaliChris and t7t7 where you at?)

the resistors that came with it should be fine. your charging system is up around 14-15V when the car is running but i am pretty sure the voltage inside your car is regulated to 13ish volts for all the electronics. again, i wouldn't worry about it.

You'll be fine with the resitors you have. It might shorten the life of them but only by a few thousand hours. LEDs can last 100,000 hours but you do take a few hours away with the lower value, not to mention how much heat you apply on them with a solder iron....hence why its important not to leave the iron on it too long.
Million mcd? So basically 1 lumen?
