Questions/Opinions...S/C 99 TL-p

Ok so ive been searching and gaining knowledge on the S/C kit, as well as a few other things, all i seemed to find was opinions on them and comparisons to 6-Speed Swaps and Turbos......i completely understand the benefits of both 6 Speed Swap as well as Turbo.....but all im interested in is S/C.....everyone keeps saying its an easy bolt-on, but no details, so just HOW easy is it? Step-by-Step would be amazing.......and besides tranny probs, what other probs should i look out for? any info on these would greatly help out....thanks.....1999 Acura TL, Cold-Air, Cat-back....tons of miles(Rebuild before S/C).....

If you get an AV6 S/C it will bolt right up.
If you get a TypeS S/C, you will need to get a different elbow from Comptech. The one for the TypeS is too short (since it has a VSA throttle body and the 99TL does not).

Other than that just follow the instructions out of the box.

but everything for a 6 speed swap bolts in, or already has premarked holes to drill , so no fab work needed

engine swap you mean to a type-s manual engine

if so that is why you just use richiev6 's module to trick the ecu into thinking that the auto is still there , and keep your oringional motor

i think that is how his username is written

Maybe im missing something...

You say you wont do the M/T swap because you will be doing all the work yourself, but yet you list you plan on rebuilding your engine before installing a supercharger? Does this mean you will be rebuilding it yourself?

nah, the only thing i plan on doing my self is the stuff i know i can do, that doesnt involve messing with the engine or tranny....the engine rebuild i will get done at a shop, since there's many shop that i trust to do that....the 6 speed on the other hand, i dont know of any shops around here that does those enough for me to trust......

I hear yah. You definitely need to find someone you trust to tackle an engine and tranny swap most shops won't do that type of work as they don't have experienced enough mechs to do the work. You need to find a real speed shop or honda specialist to do that or get some friends to help you that have solid car knowledge. The electrical part is what I'd struggle at. BTW adding a supercharger will add quite a bit more HP than just switching to a manual tranny even on a TL-P. I would bet a SC TL-P would beat a stock type S 6 speed.

are the blowers or pulleys or any parts OTHER than the elbows different on the various models? (accord, type s, etc) for instance, is the accord blower smaller than the type s 1?

I have 6spd and s/c, the 6spd makes the car sound like a weak v8 and the s/c whine is barely there anymore, only at high rpms / throttle and when I do that... i go too fast.
