i'm starting to wonder if the car i purchased is a actual type s or just a converted version. Don't remember what the title stated and i haven't gotten the new one in yet but should it state it as a acura tl type s on the title or just a acura tl? the car is a 2003 and is there any other way for me to find out if if it's a actual type s or not? The car is has all the options of a type s as in the shifter, seats, cluster etc. Is there any other way for me to tell?

It should say on the sticker on the driver door/frame.

If you enter you vin number on http://www.analogx.com/contents/vinview.htm it SHOULD tell you.

If not (ex: the decoder gives you a model code you don't understand) you can call Acura services... They will take care of everything and register you a the cars owner so you can get any updates on recalls ect.

 

i entered the vin but all it states is that it's a acura..model specific is unknown, thanks though

You could try a insurance company - they might decode it if you call.
If you call Acura, they will take care of you... - and you get signed up - 5min process...

Glad you got it. FYI: the engine sticker should be J32A2, and there are visual differences in the intake as well.

so they have an address for any recall notes, and can ck if all recalls have been completed on your car

A new one is out for airbag inflator--acura is reporting low response rate on this!!
so every gen 2 needs to register and ck if affected
